2018 Land Rover Discovery Review, Changes, Release Date And Price
If we are talking about off-road performance, we have no doubt to say that Land Rover has been popular for making it. Their cars did great job on the road. But right now, there is a big demand on the crossovers. 2018 Land Rover Discovery or the LR4 in North America was the off-road oriented car and everything changed at Paris Auto Show. The company unveiled it with a lighter, faster and more engine efficient than the forerunner.
2018 Land Rover Exterior
Finally it will go with a new chassis after we spent about more than a decade to wait. As we know that the previous LR4 was built based on the older LR3 and they were designed with really old integrated chassis which was heavy and less good for its performance. Now, the new model of 2018 Land Rover Discovery has shared D7U platform with Range Rover. This platform has all aluminum unibody design to cut even more than 1,000 pounds of the current weight. This big change is totally important to make it very impressive and lighter in its class. The all four previous models had boxy shape and this future model will be the bigger version of the Discovery Sport. They will keep the same type of headlights and grille for the front end for its aggressive look. It also has tall roof with the C-pillars.
2018 Land Rover Interior
2018 Land Rover Discovery will get big influence from the new Range Rover and the forerunner. It will go with more premium cabin design. The interior has the same dashboard as its siblings but there will be new air vents, larger infotainment screen, similar instrument cluster and steering wheel. It also has the same climate controls as the Range Rover. The impressive materials are available for its spacious cabin feel.
2018 Land Rover Engine
As for the drivetrain, it will be installed with the same engine as the mid-range cars in Jaguar or Land Rover’s roster. It will use 3.0 liter supercharged V6 petrol engine for the base model to work for 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque power. For the European and US model, it seems that they will use 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 diesel to offer 255 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Other markets might go with the base 2.0 liter Ingenium diesel to generate 237 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. 2018 Land Rover Discovery is possible to use eight-speed auto for all versions as well as the same all-wheel drive system from the Range Rover.
2018 Land Rover Release Date and Price
2018 Land Rover Discovery will come first for European market in the first quarter of 2017 and after that, it will hit US market. There is no announcement yet for the price but we do hope that it should not be too far from the forerunner. It should be around £70,000 for the limited edition with the total production about 600 units.
