2018 Mercedes S Class Specs, Redesign, Release Date And Price
With many innovations in a security system, the current model of Mercedes S-Class was launched in 2013. It came out with several improvements such as more comfortable design, sportier look, enhanced acceleration and more luxurious than before. But, there are more cars entering full-size segment and that is why it is important for the new 2018 Mercedes S-Class to come out with some updates. The interesting part is they have already started testing the facelift generation.
2018 Mercedes S Class Exterior
The spotted model was caught by paparazzi with little camouflage on its body design. What we could see is the revised model will not get radical changes, so everything is still recognizable. But, it doesn’t mean that the company doesn’t have any time to change everything when it is getting closer to its production. So, don’t expect to see any significant design on 2018 Mercedes S-Class. It only comes out with mild visual updates such as revised headlamps, taillights, minor nips, and tucks. The camouflaged model came with new headlamps for the up front but there is a lot of suggestions that the company should also add revised bumper too. It is quite possible to see this new generation with a new grille with three double horizontal slates, larger side intakes, revised center vent, revised LED strips for taillights, lower bumper design for the rear part and much more includes new wheel designs or new exterior colors.
2018 Mercedes S Class Interior
2018 Mercedes S-Class gets more attention from the company, especially for the cabin design. It will go with some new technology features that were recently used in E-Class. The visual design is still the same but some new upholstery options might be added. The most important part will be the new steering wheel equipped with a touch-sensitive button that was launched for E-Class with horizontal and vertical swipes detection just like a smartphone screen. It allows the driver to control the infotainment system with ease. What is more is the S-Class’ energy saving LED interior will come in 64 colors. We do expect to see Drive Pilot as the optional feature that will support the car to follow the car in front with the speed more than 130 mph.
2018 Mercedes S Class Engine
As the facelifted car, the new 2018 Mercedes S-Class will use the same engine as the current but with more powerful capability. The U.S market will get the same with some trim levels such as S550, S550e, S550 4Matic and the last is S600. The company will use turbo 4.7 liters and V8 engine for S550 and S550 4Matic to produce 449 hp and the S550e will go with the same hybrid configuration with the use of turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine and electric unit to produce 329 hp. If you want more powerful output than those models, you must anticipate the new S600 model with turbo 6.0 liter and V12 for 523 hp.
2018 Mercedes S Class Release Date and Price
2018 Mercedes S-Class should come out somewhere in 2018 with the price tag from $95,650 for the base to $169,050 for the top model.
